Daughter of João Francisco Serafini and Ilma Serafini.
Born into a humble family, from age 8 to 14
Irma used to play with mice, submitting these animals to experiments of injury recovery.
From age 15 to 19, she worked as a teacher for the first to the fourth grade at municipal schools in Romelândia and Chapecó, Santa Catarina state.
At 19 years old, she completed the course for nursing technician at the Santo Antônio de Chapecó and São Paulo de Xanxerê hospitals (Santa Catarina).
For extra money, she would sell beauty products, skin cleansing and repair creams.
At 21, she settled down in the city of Pinhalzinho, extreme west of Santa Catarina, as an autonomous worker.
As a self-taught person, she created the Massoprévent technique.
